Key Job Responsibilities:
As an Applied Science Intern, you will be responsible for the design and development of end-to-end systems. You will have the chance to write technical white papers, create technical roadmaps, and drive production-level projects that will support Amazon Science. You will cooperate closely with Amazon scientists and other science interns to develop solutions and deploy them into production. You will get the opportunity to design new algorithms, models, or other technical solutions while experiencing Amazon's customer-focused culture. The ideal candidate must be capable of collaborating with diverse groups of individuals and cross-functional teams to resolve complex business problems.
We are open to employing candidates to work from one of the following locations:
Amsterdam, NLD
Basic Qualifications:
Enrollment in a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics or similar fields
Experience in any programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or other scripting and programming languages
Preferred Qualifications:
Publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
Experience in the design of experiments and statistical analysis
Experience in implementing algorithms using toolkits and self-developed code
Experience in solving business problems through machine learning, data mining, and statistical algorithms
Familiarity with the core undergraduate curriculum of computer science
Technical fluency; comfortable understanding and discussing architectural concepts, algorithms, schedule trade-offs, and new opportunities with technical team members
Excellent critical thinking skills, combined with the ability to convey your beliefs lucidly and compellingly in both spoken and written form
