Join Our Team as a Senior Ab-Initio Data Engineer in Chicago

Capgemini is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to enrich our scrum teams within the Enterprise Data Lake initiative at our Chicago location. This role is pivotal in driving the functional system development of Hadoop applications in a dynamic enterprise environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Engage robustly in the agile development process, developing both functional and technical specifications derived from business requirements.
• Ensure the commercial platform’s application quality meets performance standards.
• Assist in creating accurate project estimates and plans.
• Actively participate in project meetings, solution discussions, and the code review process.
• Collaborate with fellow data engineers to design and implement Analytic applications utilizing Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL, and In-memory Data Grids.
• Educate, mentor, and exert influence on team members to achieve exceptional business results in a highly adaptive environment.

Required Skills and Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Ab Initio tools including GDE, Co>Operating System, Control Center, Metadata Hub, and others.
• At least 5 years of experience in developing big data solutions with hands-on expertise in SQL queries, Hadoop commands, and Git.
• Programming skills in Scala, Java, or Python, and a keen eye for performance tuning.
• Experience with Hive, Sqoop, Spark, Kafka, HBase on Hadoop, and familiarity with Hortonworks, Zookeeper, and Oozie preferred.
