About the Role

As an AI/ML Research Engineer, you'll collaborate with a select group of AI researchers advancing bimanual manipulation and employing multimodal models to enhance human-robot collaboration. Your key activities will involve:

• Reviewing the latest research papers and evaluating emerging algorithms.
• Implementing innovative AI techniques and sharing insights within the team and the broader AI community.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and construct experimental machine learning pipelines crucial for our robotics solutions.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in robotics ML research and apply cutting-edge techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models and data pipelines into practical robotic applications, ensuring robust, scalable solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Knowledge of multimodal models, modern ML architectures (transformers, diffusion models, etc.), and imitation/reinforcement learning.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, or similar.
• Familiarity with robotics and simulation stacks.
• Strong teamwork skills with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Valid US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing ML experiments and data pipelines with high-quality, iterative code.
• Experience with grasping, dexterous, or bimanual manipulation.
• Practical experience with ML software engineering best practices, including experiment tooling, data pipelines, model training, and workflow automation.
• Familiarity with edge compute architectures.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

Compensation and Location

The base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $220,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Salary ranges are based on role, experience, and location, with individual pay determined by job-related skills, experience, and education or training. This role is located onsite at our Seattle, WA office.
