Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to develop state-of-the-art algorithms using advanced knowledge in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Operations Research. The ideal candidate will not only understand theoretical approaches but also have a practical mindset regarding the trade-offs between solution complexity, optimality, and the use of emerging versus proven techniques. Creativity, innovative thinking, and a passion for experimentation are essential for this role. Additionally, staying abreast of recent trends in AI/ML is vital to ensure our approaches remain robust and competitive.
Core Responsibilities
- Address and solve a variety of intralogistics and planning problems using advanced analytics and AI techniques.
- Oversee solutions from inception to proof of concept, MVP, and final product deployment, ensuring they meet business requirements.
- Work with both real and synthetic data to train models and develop data-driven solutions.
- Design and build simulation tools for intralogistics processes to train and test models.
- Develop statistical forecasting and machine learning models.
- Continuously learn and apply new tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
Key Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Control Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language (Python or Java preferred). Knowledge of statistical or database languages (R, MATLAB, SQL) is a plus.
- Understanding of Reinforcement Learning and Approximate Dynamic Programming techniques.
- Knowledge of Control Theory and Machine Learning models and techniques.
- Experience with Deep Learning architectures and frameworks such as Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras, and more.
- 2+ years of experience, including academic experience, in any of the above areas.
Ways to Stand Out
- Experience with RL Frameworks such as OpenAI Gym, Dopamine, RLLib, etc.
- Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools like AnyLogic, Arena, Panda3D, etc.
- Comfort with software IDEs such as PyCharm, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, Jupyter Notebook, etc.
- Experience with Cloud Computing platforms like GCP, Azure, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and edge computing.
- Proficiency in software engineering skills, including Git, Anaconda, OOP, test-driven design, common design patterns, dependency management, and build tools.
