About the Role: Principal Analytics Data Programmer

Your Mission

As the Principal Analytics Data Programmer, you will be the technical leader responsible for architecting our next-generation data warehouse. Your role involves identifying business needs and bridging gaps between data producers, consumers, and platform teams to ensure data quality and enable actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop processes and tools to improve our data capabilities, ensuring efficient, repeatable, and scalable answers to business questions.
  • Shape the data platform team's roadmap to meet future technological demands.
  • Collaborate with data infrastructure teams to address business pain points with effective solutions.
  • Understand business requirements from an analytics standpoint, partnering with data analysts to structure data beneficially for users and underlying systems.
  • Influence cross-functional teams—including programmers, product managers, and data scientists—to identify and represent data opportunities meaningfully.
  • Elevate team performance through mentorship, process improvements, and tool advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in identifying data needs and shaping data strategies with cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical background with hands-on experience in shaping data models and data warehouses for business efficiency.
  • Expertise in building and optimizing ETL and adjacent technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, schedulers).
  • Experience managing petabyte-scale data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of the gaming industry is a plus, but not mandatory.

Pay Transparency Information

The expected annual base salary for this position is $184,796—$271,033 CAD for residents of or individuals expected to work within British Columbia. Compensation varies based on factors such as skills, competencies, qualifications, and experience. In addition to base pay, employees usually participate in Epic's generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs.
