What we’re looking for

We are seeking an Analytics Engineer III to create pristine, curated, organized data sets utilized by our Data Analysts, Operations teams, and other Arcadians. The role is hands-on and collaborative, constructing data assets that facilitate analysis and guide daily business decisions. You’ll bring an engineer’s rigor and an experienced data modeler’s expertise to tackle our most complex data modeling problems, collaborating with the rest of the Analytics Engineering team to organize and rationalize our data.

Our data lake is situated on Snowflake, and that's where we construct our curated data layer—we call it the Lakehouse. You'll primarily work with SQL in dbt; we use dbt Core, coordinated in Prefect.

This presents an extraordinary opportunity for someone who savors the opportunity to interact with cutting-edge technology, impacting the development of a world-class data ecosystem and operating in a fast-paced environment on a tight-knit team with high morale. You'll work with a globally dispersed team, based primarily in Chennai, India, but involving key contributors throughout the United States.

What you’ll do

  • Transform, test, deploy, and document data to deliver clean and reliable data for analysis to end-users.
  • Cooperate with data scientists, data analysts, and business analysts to identify the most elegant and effective data structures for understanding our continually growing and evolving business.
  • Assist in implementing engineering best practices (reliability, modularity, test coverage, documentation) into our DAG and our Data team in general.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to construct robust, tested, scalable ELT pipelines.
  • On a daily basis…
    • Data modeling: Shape raw data into clean, tested, and reusable datasets to represent our key business data concepts. Define the rules and requirements for the formats and attributes of data.
    • Data transformation: Structure our data lakehouse by transforming raw data into significant, useful data elements through joining, filtering, and aggregating source data.
    • Data documentation: Create and maintain data documentation including data definitions and understandable data descriptions to enable widespread understanding and use of data.
    • Utilize engineering best practices to write code and enhance our codebase.
