About the Role
Total Wine & More is looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer proficient in data warehousing, data modeling, and data management to join our Data Services team. We are excited to embark on a significant transformation initiative across Total Wine & More, focusing on enhancing our enterprise data architecture, data warehousing, and business intelligence functionalities.
Your Key Responsibilities
As an Analytics Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with data engineers, data scientists, and BI engineers to meet business objectives.
- Implementing warehouse structure improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Developing and monitoring data quality testing processes.
- Assisting with the implementation of data architecture and governance standards.
- Conducting exploratory data analysis to extract meaningful business insights.
- Documenting data platform processes and ensuring organizational knowledge share.
- Taking ownership of assigned projects and tasks proactively.
Your Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business, or a related field.
- 2-3+ years of experience in data warehousing, data architecture, data modeling, or business intelligence.
- Proven experience in creating impactful data modeling solutions using cloud-native tools.
- Proficiency with SQL and DBMSs.
- Knowledge of workflow management platforms and data warehousing tools.
- Understanding of data governance standards and best practices.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Self-motivation and a strong drive for results.
- Ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities effectively.
Preferred Experience
Additional preferred skills and experience include:
- Experience with cloud-based analytical platforms (GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with enterprise Business Intelligence technologies (Power BI, Looker).
- Experience with workflow management (Airflow) and data warehouse tools (dbt).
- Knowledge of data lifecycle management (DLM).
- Understanding of retail operations.
