Job Title: Analytics Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to manage, administer, and maintain our Looker instance ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their analytics needs and implement effective solutions within Looker.

Key Responsibilities

Looker Instance Administration

• Configure and maintain Looker settings, including user roles, permissions, and access controls.
• Manage LookML models, explore files, and dashboards for accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to enhance query performance and minimize downtime.
• Stay updated on Looker releases, updates, and best practices to keep our instance current and industry-aligned.

User Support and Training

• Provide training sessions and workshops to onboard new users and empower existing users in data analysis and reporting.
• Offer ongoing support to address user questions, troubleshoot issues, and guide best practices for using Looker.
• Develop and maintain documentation, FAQs, and tutorials to facilitate self-service support and knowledge sharing among users.

Collaboration and Integration

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable insights within Looker.
• Work closely with IT and security teams to ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards.
• Integrate Looker with other data sources, tools, and platforms to streamline data workflows and enable seamless access and analysis.

Quality Assurance and Testing

• Conduct regular quality assurance checks to verify data model, report, and dashboard accuracy and reliability in Looker.
• Perform thorough testing of new features, updates, and configurations to identify and resolve issues before deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Proven experience in administering and maintaining Looker instances in a production environment.
• Strong understanding of SQL, LookML, and relational databases.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
