The Role As part of our analytics engineering team and reporting to an Analytics Engineering Manager, your role involves creating data sets that are clean, tested, well-documented, and well-modeled. This will empower data scientists and business users alike, utilizing tools like Snowflake and/or Looker. You'll collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure the modeling of source data meets downstream requirements. You will maintain and develop SQL data transformation scripts, guiding and reviewing data scientists on data modeling to yield denormalised and aggregated output datasets. You'll cooperate with data scientists and other analytics engineers to provide accessible, intuitive datasets in our BI tool, Looker. Your responsibilities include optimization and further adoption of Looker as a data product in the company, serving to ~1500 current active users who need to explore and interact with data. Skillset Required - Exceptional SQL skills - Understanding of data warehousing, data modeling concepts and structuring new data tables - Proficiency in cloud-based MPP data warehousing (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) Nice to have - Experience developing in a BI tool (Looker or similar) - Solid practical understanding of version control - SQL ETL/ELT knowledge, experience with DAGs for script dependency management - Python coding skills, especially in automation and integrations - Sound knowledge of the Looker API Workplace & Diversity At Deliveroo, we understand that our people are the heart of the operation and we prioritize their wellbeing.
