About the Role

Become a pivotal member of the CIB Cross-Functional Applied AI/ML team and contribute significantly to the future of banking. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in reshaping how cross-functional and operations teams work, directly influencing the management and functioning of our corporate and investment banking services.

You will join a team of data scientists, operations subject matter experts, and ML engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning solutions. Our goal is to create products that revolutionize operations, deliver measurable impact, and have commercial potential.

A finance background is not required. If you're passionate about machine learning theory and Python development, we want to connect with you.

Responsibilities

• Work with vast datasets from various financial businesses that are unique to JPMorgan Chase.
• Develop production-ready code and collaborate with tech teams to deploy ML solutions at scale across multiple business lines.
• Create products that can change the corporate and investment banking landscape.

In this role, you will:

• Research and develop innovative ML-based solutions for complex operations challenges.
• Build robust data science capabilities scalable across various business applications.
• Work with software engineering teams to design, deploy, and maintain production-grade ML models.
• Analyze large datasets using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Communicate AI capabilities and results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Document methodologies, techniques, and processes to comply with industry regulations.

Required Technical Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative or computational discipline.
• Significant commercial experience in developing and deploying data science and ML capabilities at scale.
• Strong Python development and debugging skills, capable of developing high-quality, reusable code.
• Ability to work independently and in team settings, mentoring junior team members.
• Experience with agile cross-functional teams and driving deliverable outcomes.
• Skill in communicating with non-specialists, building trust with stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with big-data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) and distributed computation frameworks (Dask, Modin).
• Hands-on experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience in creating and deploying microservices.
• Knowledge of MLOps concepts like CI/CD, versioning, reproducibility, and observability best practices.
