Your Impact
We are actively seeking experts with research experience in AI applied to autonomous driving, robotics, or decision-making domains. Your expertise can be in, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Foundation models for robotics
- Model-free and model-based reinforcement learning
- Offline reinforcement learning
- Large language models
- Planning with learned models, model predictive control, and tree search
- Imitation learning, inverse reinforcement learning, and causal inference
- Learned agent models: behavioral and physical models of cars, people, and other dynamic agents
Join our diverse, cross-disciplinary team to tackle some of the world's most challenging problems and help our robots drive safely and comfortably in complex real-world environments. Your tasks will include:
- Leveraging our extensive, diverse sources of real-world driving data
- Architecting models to employ the latest advances in foundation models, transformers, and world models
- Selecting appropriate learning algorithms, such as reinforcement learning and behavioral cloning
- Utilizing simulation for controlled experimental insights, training data augmentation, and re-simulation
- Scaling models efficiently across data sets, model sizes, and compute while ensuring efficient deployment on vehicles
Additionally, you will have opportunities to contribute to high-impact academic publications for top-tier conferences like NeurIPS, CVPR, ICRA, ICLR, and CoRL, working with a world-class team to achieve these goals.
What You’ll Bring to Wayve
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- 5+ years of applied experience in AI research, computer vision, deep learning, reinforcement learning, or robotics
- Proficiency in delivering high-quality code and familiarity with deep learning frameworks (Python and Pytorch preferred)
- Experience in leading research agendas aligned with larger organizational goals
- Experience in deep learning, software engineering, automotive, or robotics sectors
- Skilled in working with training data, metrics, visualization tools, and in-depth result analysis
- Capability to understand, author, and critique cutting-edge research papers
- Knowledge of code-reviewing, C++, Linux, and Git is advantageous
- A PhD in a relevant area and/or a proven track record of delivering value through machine learning is highly desirable
