Job Description Summary
Lead the vision and execution of data capabilities for Drug Development on enterprise-wide Data and Analytics Platforms. The Development Data Enablement team is responsible for data project implementation and adoption of data management strategies across Drug Development functions. Utilizing best-in-class data management processes, the team aims to deliver big data and cloud platforms for analytics, sophisticated analytics, and AI/ML modernization initiatives.
Role Purpose
As the Associate Director of Solution Delivery Dev Data Analytics and DS&AI Capabilities, you will lead solution delivery of IT projects focused on data in the Development domain. This role involves collaboration with senior collaborators, data leaders, business domain experts (SMEs), architects, modelers, and data engineers. Reporting to the Data Delivery Lead in Data, Analytics, and DS&AI for the Development domain, you will ensure the alignment and delivery of data capabilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Deliver data capabilities across DDIT Dev Data and Analytics use cases on the enterprise-wide data and analytics platform to support various digital and technology initiatives.
- Create reusable data assets to accelerate reusability and availability at scale.
- Align with Enterprise Data Owner (EDO) and Enterprise Data Management (EDM) in data governance, management, and quality guidelines.
- Oversee data engineering, architecture, and modeling during the lifecycle execution of use cases.
- Coordinate and deliver Master Data Management (MDM) and Data Quality (DQ) use cases in close collaboration with EDO and Development line function teams.
- Collaborate with Architecture Platform and Data (APD) team to adopt governance principles, frameworks, standards, and best practices in data-related use cases.
- Drive execution with vendor partners and ensure the right expertise is in place, including periodic reviews and performance assessments.
- Assist Project IT teams during the full lifecycle of execution, including gap assessments, cost estimations, data architecture, and execution.
- Review and approve data models and assist in data asset classification.
- Evangelize point of views on emerging data trends in life sciences, pharma industry, and relevant technologies for data and analytics.
- Proactively engage with APD Technology & Platform partners to foster innovation and expand data platform capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with best practices, peer reviews, formal documentation, and business sign-offs.
- Ensure robust platform operations in partnership with platform support teams.
- Lead project team members and provide thought leadership aligned with expected outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to ISRM, legal, ethics, and other compliance policies in defining architecture standards and solutions.
- Communicate solutions and recommendations to business users and manage data effectively for analytical uses.
- Coordinate, prioritize, and efficiently allocate team resources to critical initiatives.
Essential Requirements
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information technology.
Experience:
- 12+ years of IT experience in senior roles within Data and Analytics, with strong exposure to Data Management.
- 10+ years of experience in Analytics/Big Data and solution design in a global matrix organization.
- Experience in AWS and related technologies, delivering end-to-end data lifecycle use cases.
- Experience with code management tools, CI/CD, automated testing.
- Specialization in Pharma Domain and understanding of usage across the end-to-end enterprise value chain.
- Experience in managing vendor and collaborator expectations and driving techno-functional discussions.
- Record of managing high-performing global IT teams in culturally diverse matrix organizations.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, and experience with agile and DevOps methodologies.
