The Wildfire Risk Organization at PG&E plays a crucial role in preventing fires caused by company equipment. Our objectives include:

The Asset Health and Performance Center team focuses on evaluating, deploying, and operationalizing new technologies for real-time grid monitoring. This helps PG&E predict and prevent distribution system issues through proactive maintenance.

Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to provide business intelligence for operational performance and decision-making. Responsibilities include analyzing complex data from distribution sensors, OSISoft PI, Outage Management, SmartMeter, and more. This role involves developing functional workflows using advanced analytics and machine learning for predictive asset maintenance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, analyze data for business insights, and develop dashboards to monitor operational and financial performance.

This hybrid role requires working from both your remote office and an assigned location based on business needs.

Compensation

PG&E offers a salary range for this position as follows:

  • Bay Minimum: $105,000
  • Bay Maximum: $169,000

Salaries are determined based on skills, education, certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage data flow and integrations from technology platforms owned by AHPC.
  • Develop functional requirements for predictive asset maintenance workflows using grid and sensor data.
  • Implement and operationalize workflows in collaboration with Data Analytics/Data Science teams.
  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards for tracking AHPC field sensor assets' lifecycle and performance.
  • Measure ongoing performance and develop metrics for process measurement, business operations, or risk assessment.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership and officers.
  • Assist with the implementation of process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Support complex, cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4 years of job-related experience.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with utility operations.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel/Access (complex formulas, graphing, VBA).
  • Advanced SQL query writing using Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in UNIX shell programming (csh, awk, sed, vi).
  • Experience with visual data solutions tools: Power Builder, Palantir Foundry.
  • Experience with Python, Java, PySpark.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with SAP, SmartMeter, and electric distribution systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively prioritize work.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to deliver findings and make recommendations to stakeholders.
