About the Role

Data Engineering at KPMG India plays a crucial role in the innovation and optimization of data infrastructure. As an Assistant Manager - GCP Data Engineer, you'll be tasked with creating the infrastructure needed for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading from a variety of sources. Your expertise will extend to developing analytical tools that drive our data pipeline, providing key actionable insights into essential business performance metrics, and upholding the best practices in software development life cycle such as agile methodologies and code reviews.

Key Responsibilities

As a pivotal member of our data engineering team, you will:

• Design, build, and operationalize large-scale enterprise data solutions using advanced GCP services such as Data Flow, Data Proc, Pub Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and others.
• Gain hands-on programming experience with Spark/Scala and either Python or Java, focusing on production-level ETL/ELT data pipelines from data ingestion to consumption.
• Enhance your knowledge in Data Engineering, including Data Lakes, Data Warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Hive, Snowflake), and data integration and migration strategies.
• Use your exceptional communication skills to convey written and verbal information both formally and informally.
• Employ software version control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or Code Commit effectively.
• Showcase your ability to multitask under pressure, work independently with minimal supervision, and maintain a proactive and self-motivated approach to problem resolution.
• Demonstrate your team player spirit in a cooperative and collaborative team environment.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will have:

• An undergraduate degree with outstanding academic credentials, preferably in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering.
• Proficient experience in designing, building, and managing large-scale data solutions, with substantial use of various GCP services.
• Proficient in programming with Spark/Scala, and Python or Java.
• Ability to deliver robust ETL/ELT data pipelines ready for production, from inception to consumption.
