We are seeking passionate and motivated Data Engineers to join our growing team. You'll have the opportunity to transform technology and health care, making our vision a reality. Training and development are integral to this role. You must be able to commute to one of our following office locations: Blue Bell, PA; Chantilly, VA; Florham Park, NJ; Harrisburg, PA; Hartford, CT; Jacksonville, FL; Orlando, FL; Wellesley, MA; Woonsocket, RI. This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite in the Aetna offices in Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scalable, repeatable, and secure data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, standardize, and integrate data for insights and reporting.
  • Build efficient, high-quality, integrated, and increasingly real-time ETL/ELT processes using various tools, programming languages, and services.
  • Deliver data capabilities and new data products to accelerate data investments and democratize data across the enterprise and within the Health Care Business unit.
  • Collaborate with the data science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
  • Build data models, data marts, and extracts to support Data Science, internal customers, and third-party administrators.
  • Analyze data, understand complex systems, and solve challenging data sourcing and integration problems.
  • Promote engineering excellence by simplifying, optimizing, and automating processes and workflows.
  • Innovate by leveraging and practicing agile techniques to enhance efficiency, productivity, and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying data pipelines.
  • 1+ years' experience using Python and any ETL tool.
  • Working experience in Relational databases or Hadoop with a strong understanding of SQL or HQL.
  • Hands-on experience in building solutions in public cloud environments (GCP, Azure, or AWS).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building ETL data pipelines in Ab-Initio or equivalent technology.
  • Experience with GCP Cloud services such as Big Query, Composer, Airflow, DataProc.
  • Working background with tools like Tableau, Alteryx, and/or ThoughtSpot.
  • Basic understanding of some ETL Tools (e.g., AbInitio, Native BigQuery).
  • Experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands, CI/CD.
  • Agile practice experience with methodologies like SAFe.
  • Healthcare domain experience is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $64,890.00 - $131,800.00. This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for positions in this job grade. The actual base salary offer will depend on various factors, including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
