Position Description

As an Associate Data Engineer, you will work closely with Data Architects, Software Engineers, Product Owners, and Project Teams to develop and implement data storage and movement solutions. You will take a hands-on approach, designing ETL processes, supporting Business Intelligence functions, and integrating data movement with data consumption. Your contributions will directly impact our analytics capabilities and data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design moderately complex ETL solutions using established data warehouse standards.
• Analyze data requirements, models, and determine the best methods for extracting, transforming, and loading data.
• Create business intelligence reports and data visualizations using tools like Python, Tableau, and PowerBI.
• Analyze business requirements and outline effective solutions.
• Validate code to ensure it meets business and architectural standards.
• Create and test prototypes, troubleshoot applications, and resolve any defects.
• Work within an agile framework and assist in delivering resilient, scalable technical solutions.
• Update and maintain product documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with Agile teams through peer programming, mobbing, hackathons, and code reviews.
• Support and participate in business intelligence efforts, data analytics, and data governance/quality initiatives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent combination of technical certifications, education, and relevant work experience.
• ETL development experience or relevant coursework.
• Experience or coursework in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Science.
• Familiarity with an Agile development environment.
• Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse design.
• Experience or coursework with Python for data movement/manipulation.
• Relational Databases experience or coursework.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technology-related field such as Computer Science, MIS, or Analytics.
• 1+ year(s) of experience in an Information Technology role.

Knowledge & Skills

• Creative problem solver with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Competency in problem-solving and strong attention to detail.
• Professionalism and a keen understanding of data warehouse ETL concepts.
• Coursework or exposure to RDBMS.
• Basic BI development and data analysis experience or coursework.
• Proactivity and a bias toward action, evident in your experience or coursework.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to the Manager, Software Engineering. Salary will be based on factors such as education, work experience, and certifications.
