Network Performance Optimization Data Analysis Associate We are looking for a Data Analysis Associate to join our Network Performance Optimization team within our Configuration, Claim Submission & Denials Services division. Your job will be to analyze athena’s claims data and conduct independent research to deliver data driven insights and solutions that prevent/improve detractors of clean claim performance. The role combines technical expertise in data analysis with the research acumen required to identify and define actionable opportunities while also influencing key stakeholders to implement these opportunities. But enough about us; let’s talk about you. You have experience creating meaningful analysis with large, complex datasets. You are someone who demonstrates excellent communication skills and has a keen ability for solving business problems via independent research and data analysis. You are detail-oriented and enjoy managing simultaneous projects with competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.  You maintain an intense curiosity that allows to you go deep on complicated healthcare billing issues. The Team: Our Configuration, Claim Submission & Denials Services team eliminates the administrative burden associated with medical billing and ensures our clients’ cash flow through enabling the creation of accurate insurance claims with minimal client work. Job Responsibilities - Utilize athena’s data assets to deliver insights that promote the continuous improvement of network billing outcomes - Research the root cause of spikes and trends in negative billing outcomes to identify and define the business requirements for actionable opportunities to improve billing performance - Monitor and report out to stakeholders on the drivers of key performance indicators (KPIs) of billing performance and areas of opportunity to drive improvement - Management of and execution against initiatives to research and improve specific areas of poor billing performance or drive process improvement - Analyze complex data sets, identifying trends and proactively developing solutions to globally felt customer issues Typical Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree required in a quantitative or technical discipline such as, economics, finance, computer science, business, or a similar quantitative field - 3+ years of professional work experience, inclusive of 1+ years of data analytics - Experience with at least one data-extraction, scripting, and/or programming language (e.g., SQL, R, Python) - Leveraging data and data analysis techniques to deliver insights to stakeholders - Mastery of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Familiarity and comfort with web/software applications and a basic understanding of cloud-based SaaS About athenahealth - Our Mission: To unleash our collective potential to transform healthcare. - Our Culture: If you crave transparency, innovation and the ability to make an impact, you’ve come to the right place.
