The Business Intelligence Engineer will be responsible for a crucial growth area within a dynamic, entrepreneurial analytics team. We are looking for an extraordinarily talented, visionary, and deeply focused BI Engineer with exceptional analytical skills. Their role will involve creating some of the largest reporting objects in the Accounts Receivable BI sector, thereby contributing to business outcomes through analytics. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape one of the largest Finance Operations BI environments today. The individual will quickly acquire expertise and flourish in Amazon's fast-paced, Day 1 culture. Key job responsibilities - Solving real-life business problems through data analytics using big data - Collaborating with business users on requirements, objectives, and measures - Optimizing and organizing data pipelines from the Finance Operations Data Lake into the visualization environment - Building and managing Tableau workbooks - Providing input and recommendations on technical issues to the data engineering and software engineering teams - Contributing to data design, data modeling, and data extraction/transformations - Operating in a genuinely global environment, across various functional teams A day in the life Do you have experience as a Business Engineer and are passionate about driving innovation in the data and analytics field? The BI Engineer will be responsible for guiding the development of reporting and analytics across the global portfolio of businesses and processes. They will generate reports and analyses for decision-making, metrics management, and more. Their role will involve transforming business problems into data issues, acquiring the necessary data by collaborating with other engineering teams, producing reports, and continually optimizing data pipelines and transformations. About the team The Global Accounts Receivable team oversees all AR processes across all of Amazon's businesses and locations. Global AR, Data Analytics (GARDA) supports all AR related decisions. Our goal is to facilitate a world-class Order-to-Cash cycle by providing relevant and timely data, insights, and predictions to our leadership and operations teams. In close cooperation with our stakeholders, we develop and implement standard metrics, utilize data from a 'single source of truth', provide automated, self-service, standard reporting, and build predictive analytics. Our ultimate goal is to actively contribute to improving Amazon's Free Cash Flow through valuable analytics. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Hyderabad, TS, IND Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, etc. - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools - Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and constructing ETL pipelines - Experience writing complex SQL queries - Experience with Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS, and Matlab - Experience using SQL to extract data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling Preferred Qualifications - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift - Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
