Job Description: Big Data Engineer - Analytics

Are you ready to drive the future of Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), and Data Science in the financial domain? If you thrive in an agile team environment and have expertise in Big Data Solutions, Avaloq is looking for a Big Data Engineer like you!

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Develop scalable and reliable data pipelines for ingesting and processing diverse data sources into our real-time platform.
• Collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Software Engineers.
• Design and maintain innovative data integration solutions.

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, SQL, and cloud technologies like Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience in Big Data and Data Analytics environments.
• Knowledge in stream processing, streaming data, and data pipelines.
• Proven skills in data modeling, data quality, and governance best practices.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with container platforms like OpenShift/Kubernetes and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka and Kafka Connect.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI.
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Background in banking or financial services, particularly with Avaloq Banking Suite.
