Position Summary

Join Bentley’s Data organization as part of our Analytics Advancement team! We align with Bentley’s Business Units to provide data advocacy, insights, and solutions that support business objectives and strategies. We are seeking a dedicated Business Data Analyst to work closely with our Finance Business Unit. The role involves continuous engagement with Finance BU personnel and data practitioners to understand data needs, define requirements, and deliver comprehensive reports and analysis. As a data liaison and advocate, the Business Data Analyst communicates data value in business terms and identifies opportunities for data-driven innovation.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Engaging with BU personnel at various levels, including managers, directors, and subject matter experts.
• Becoming proficient in the data content, sources, and flows used by the BU, while staying informed about their goals, challenges, and processes.
• Communicating the value, role, and purpose of data in business terms, using clear language and relevant examples.
• Defining and documenting data requirements, translating business needs into technical specifications, and ensuring adherence to data standards.
• Developing, testing, and delivering reports and analysis using diverse tools and platforms, supported by Report Developers as needed.
• Collaborating with the Data Intelligence team to maintain standardized data definitions and resolve quality or availability issues.
• Advocating for the BU within the Data team, sharing feedback and suggestions for data improvement.

What You Bring to The Team:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, statistics, computer science, information systems) or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or related roles.
• Expertise in interpreting data and synthesizing key business insights across multiple datasets with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in SQL and Excel; familiarity with other data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R, Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of transforming complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Curiosity and knowledge about business domains and industry trends, along with the ability to identify data opportunities and challenges.
• Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Capable of sitting or standing as needed while working on a computer and communicating via Microsoft Teams.
• No travel required.
