Business Data Analyst Opportunity

Location: Irving, TX (Hybrid)
Duration: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Data Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis and investigation for banking and risk management projects, ensuring accurate data lineage and validation across multiple systems.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for intensive data analysis, providing actionable insights to business stakeholders.
  • Manage regulatory reporting processes including CCAR, FDIC, and Basel, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
  • Present data findings and analysis to relevant business groups, supporting decision-making processes with clear, concise narratives.
  • Demonstrate strong root cause analysis skills, independently identifying and resolving data-related issues in a timely manner.

Required Skills

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Strong banking and risk domain knowledge including products like loans, cards, mortgages, corporate loans, and OTC derivatives.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with requirements collection and understanding.
  • Expertise in data investigation and data analysis.
  • The ability to explain functional and technical details clearly.
  • Strong SQL writing capabilities.
  • Experience in data tracing, data lineage across multiple systems, data analysis, and data validation.
  • Independence and resourcefulness in dealing with risk issues and resolving them promptly.
  • Strong skills in root cause analysis.
  • Experience with regulatory reports like CCAR, FDIC, and Basel (preferred).
  • Strong people management and administrative skills.
  • The ability to develop clear and concise narratives for presenting to senior management.
