Job Description

The key objectives include:

• Reporting to the Data and Reporting Director, playing a vital role in maintaining, manipulating, and disseminating crucial information throughout the company.
• Joining a compact team in assisting the Data and Reporting Director to provide data and reports to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Aiding in the administration of the company's data warehouse.
• Working directly with representatives from various business areas to comprehend their needs, then proceeding from raw data through visualization to the distribution of reports.

Specific responsibilities are:

• Gaining a thorough understanding of the database structure, processes, and interactions with the system front-end.
• Constructing and maintaining crucial SQL queries.
• Developing reports utilizing SQL, Visual Studio, SSRS, and Power BI, and liaising with report users to ensure these reports are fit for purpose.
• Aiding in the maintenance of SQL Server databases.
• Providing timely and accurate reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Utilizing Excel to manipulate and present extracted data in a format best suited to the specific stakeholders' needs.
• Engaging in project work as needed to enhance and evolve the reporting environment.
• Identifying opportunities to establish efficiencies, integrations, and automations, then developing them to realization.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL skills. Power BI and Visual Studio are an advantage.
• Proven experience in maintaining and managing relational databases, including knowledge of best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in financial services.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel, ideally with VBA.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, self-motivated with minimal oversight.
• A positive attitude with a drive to propel self and business forward. Ability to set a good example for junior analysts and provide guidance when necessary.
