NielsenIQ's Business Intelligence Team collaborates with businesses to provide crucial wide-ranging business intelligence from reporting, insights to thought leadership. Our intelligence assists clients in planning their strategies, monitoring them in essential business areas such as distribution, market expansions, pricing strategies, launching new products, promotions as well as determining what products you see in stores and online. Our Business Intelligence team members are experts on NielsenIQ Solutions and Services and are viewed as trusted partners by our clients at all levels, from the C-Suite to execution teams.

This is a high-impact/visibility position leading the Business Intelligence Team, who work with our clients as consultants, tool experts and the voice of NielsenIQ at our clients. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with others across all levels of the organization.

We are seeking someone with previous experience in business intelligence and skills who is passionate about servicing/consulting clients, growing the business and developing frameworks for North American clients to help the organization drive strategic business outcomes, bolster Business Intelligence as a Center of Excellence, and enable data-driven insights. The incumbent will also lead the teams that provide technical support to clients using NielsenIQ Data Direct Manager, a tool that helps clients to ingest data directly to their data lakes and becomes one of the foundational deliveries for NIQ.

Responsibilities

As a leader of our Business Intelligence team, you are accountable for driving organizational changes through efficiencies in automation, process improvement, and technology integration. Besides, you will lead a team responsible for driving day-to-day relationships and insights, overall customer experience, and NielsenIQ’s impact on our clients.

Team Leadership & Collaboration: Business intelligence leaders often collaborate with cross-functional teams, so strong leadership and collaboration skills are crucial.

  • Guide and motivate your team, foster a culture of data-driven decision-making, and collaborate with stakeholders across different departments
  • Manage all aspects of hiring, onboarding, training, ongoing staff development, and workforce management to drive high levels of efficiency and employee engagement
  • Develop a high-performing and diverse team in the market, working cross-functionally to surpass client expectations

Business Acumen & BI Execution: You need a deep understanding of the business landscape and your organization's goals, strategies, and industry.

  • Link data-driven insights to business objectives and make informed decisions that bolster growth and profitability.
  • Lead execution excellence of the Business Intelligence team in North America (both onshore and accountable on offshore as well), ensuring the team responds to client needs swiftly and thoroughly, continually improving client satisfaction and delivering best-in-class analytics that support client’s business to drive client satisfaction (measured by NPS scores)
  • Lead the Business Intelligence transformation roadmap, articulate the vision clearly and inspire teams to drive the change agenda
  • Consistently and actively support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer and employee experience
  • Develop and champion advanced standards for top-quality deliverables

Qualifications

Data Analysis and Interpretation: As a business intelligence leader, you should have a solid foundation in data analysis techniques and the ability to derive insights from complex data sets. This includes skills in statistical analysis, data modeling, data visualization, and data interpretation.

Technical Proficiency in Data Governance and Management: Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, data security, and privacy regulations is important. You should be able to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and availability of data assets within your organization.

Communication and Visualization: As a leader, you need to effectively communicate complex ideas and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Robust presentation and data visualization skills will help you convey your findings in a clear and compelling manner.

Strategic Thinking: A business intelligence leader should have strategic thinking abilities and the capacity to align data initiatives with the organization's overall strategy. This includes identifying new opportunities, anticipating future trends, and developing long-term data-driven strategies.

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or business administration is required, while an MBA or equivalent graduate degree is preferable.
  • 10+ years' experience in Business Intelligence in similar companies or with similar clients
  • 5+ years' experience in executive-level leadership across direct, regional, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience in managing, motivating, developing and inspiring large teams, including leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Experience with BI tools, applications for automation, analytics, reporting, and database technologies, and programming languages
  • Experience with Microsoft Stack that includes but isn't limited to SharePoint, Tableau, Power BI, Business Central, SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, identifying root causes and solutions through a high level of reasoning skills
  • Creative, high energy, self-starter comfortable with running programs independently and interfacing with multiple levels and functions
  • Ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Ability to handle ambiguity.
