What you can expect in this role

  • As part of the Data Science team, you will imagine, create and launch data science and analytics capabilities for business and clients from start to finish.
  • Working in Digital Marketing, you will support clients across multiple sectors (Retail, CPG, Travel, Finance and more)
  • You will engage with Big Data and related platforms (Pyspark, Scala, SQL)

  • You will collaborate directly with business stakeholders across various departments (Product, Client Support, Sales and more).

Key responsibilities

  • Work with clients and colleagues to pinpoint opportunities to leverage company data to drive business solutions.
  • Develop a use case roadmap for a problem area or business capacity. Transform business challenges into Data Science or modeling problems.
  • Extract data from multiple sources, mining and analyzing company databases to optimize and enhance products.
  • Act as the data strategy lead, identifying and integrating new datasets that can be utilized through our product capabilities, and collaborate closely with Client Support, Product Management and the Engineering team to strategize and execute development of data products.
  • Process, clean, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis. Conduct preprocessing of structured data.
  • Data mine using state-of-the-art methods, selecting features, constructing and optimizing models using ML/AI techniques.
  • Present technical solutions to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and comprehensive way, concisely communicating key concepts and functionalities
  • Skillfully manage client expectations through frequent communication and high-quality results.
  • Develop client-centric UI solutions for clients/stakeholders using BI tools like Tableau, Cognos, Excel or similar.
  • Concurrently work on multiple assignments, handling priorities and challenges while meeting deadlines based on project plans and roadmaps.
  • Oversee solution development in alignment with scrum principles, using JIRA effectively.
  • Create self-service tools for error detection, diagnosis, and predictive metrics.
  • Construct project plans, maintain to-do lists, organize work, adhere to coding ethics, and pay attention to details.
  • Supervise and mentor 2-3 junior Data Scientists on their projects.

Qualifications

  • Over 7 years of professional experience in data science or business intelligence
  • Proven proficiency in PYTHON/SCALA/SQL and BIG DATA technologies, as well as demonstrated ability to program in big data/cloud technologies such as AWS & SPARK; minimum of four years' experience
  • Experienced with Machine Learning algorithms including logistic regression, linear regression, lasso regression, k-means, random forest, XG boost, KNN, SVM and neural network; minimum 4 years' experience
  • Capability to produce detailed documents/narratives providing actionable insights and recommendations using BI tools like Tableau
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office suite; including Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, willing to work hard to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player capable of effective collaboration across geographies and time zones.
  • Good understanding of Digital Marketing in Retail, Finance or Travel Industry
  • Professional experience working with R, Power BI, Cognos, Dash, Looker, Domo.
  • Professional experience in multi-touch attribution, market mix modelling, fraud analytics, customer journey, churn modelling, customer segmentation, hypothesis testing, a/b testing and recommendation engines.

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., data science, statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science) or significant relevant coursework/experience is preferred.
