Are you a skilled data engineer looking to make a significant impact in a leading global firm? KPMG India is hiring a Consultant-Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. Your role will involve assessing, capturing, and translating complex business issues into structured technical tasks, and designing end-to-end data and business intelligence solutions.
Translate Business Requirements: Assess, capture, and convert complex business issues and solution requirements into structured technical tasks for the data engineering team. Gain rapid understanding of industry standards and develop effective work stream plans.
Full-Stack Solutions: Design, build, launch, optimize, and extend full-stack data and business intelligence solutions, spanning extraction, storage, complex transformation, and visualization layers.
Big Data Environments: Support the creation of big data environments to enable analytics solutions on various big data platforms. Assess new technologies and advocate for their adoption.
Process Improvement: Continuously focus on opportunities to improve the processes and efficiencies of our data pipelines. Ensure data quality and reliability of existing pipelines.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with various stakeholders and teams to build and modify data pipelines to meet business needs. Create data access tools for the analytics and data scientist teams to leverage data and develop new solutions.
Bachelor’s Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
Cloud Certification: Certification in cloud technologies, especially Azure, is a plus.
ETL/ELT Development: 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines from various sources like APIs, FTP sites, cloud-based blob stores, and databases (relational and non-relational).
Operational Programming Tasks: Experience with tasks such as version control, CI/CD, testing, and quality assurance.
Apache and Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in Apache data projects (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Airflow) or cloud platform equivalents (Databricks, Azure Data Lake Services, Azure Data Factory). Experience in at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, R, Java, Golang, Kotlin, C, or C++.
SDLC Methodologies: Familiarity with software development life cycle methodologies, particularly Agile. Experience with project management tools, preferably Azure DevOps.
Team Management: Experience in managing small teams and ensuring collective business objectives are met.
Personal Drive: Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude to deliver results within tight deadlines.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to various projects, working hours, and work environments. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Team Player: Self-driven with the ability to work independently while being an effective team player.
