Role Description

Our group ensures the timely delivery of comprehensive and error-free data to some of the most demanding and successful systematic portfolio managers in the world. As a Data Analyst, you will be part of a small team of Data Scientists/Analysts playing a vital role. Your focus will be on the smooth day-to-day operation of our expansive research infrastructure and the live trading of billions of dollars across global markets, including equities, futures, options, and other financial instruments.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential data sources
• Coordinate with the compliance and legal teams on new vendor trial/subscription processes
• Assist in collecting and maintaining overviews and vendor content offerings
• Support data inquiries and requests from investment teams
• Set up feed downloads and monitor database check-ins
• Monitor automated data collection and cleansing infrastructure
• Coordinate meetings and conference calls between data users and experts
• Organize presentations
• Handle user requests and answer data-related questions
• Download trial datasets from vendor FTP sites or other delivery mechanisms
• Assist the Data Team with manual data processing as needed
• Maintain the contents of Cubist Data Wiki

Requirements

• Basic programming experience in languages such as R, Matlab, Python, SQL, Java, or others
• Financial industry experience is preferred but not required
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Keen attention to detail and a love of process
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling queries, calls, and issues
• Capability to multitask and prioritize assignments effectively
