Job Overview

QBE Insurance is seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will undertake data analysis, maintain databases, and produce management information to support strategic decision-making. You will also map key processes, document business requirements, and provide input into technology solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support business planning, including the preparation of management reports, annual budgets, forecasts, and trend analysis.
  • Provide support on systems connectivity and troubleshooting issues. Develop user requirements and business processes while leading system development projects and testing efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, offering guidance to ensure the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
  • Perform data and portfolio analysis, conduct market research, and prepare customer presentations.
  • Develop analysis models and initiate measurable improvements to work processes.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards for key processes and policies, meeting internal reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor regional economic developments affecting business and provide analytical support through management reports.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify key metrics and develop enhanced reports or business models.
  • Research, gather, and analyze data for decision-making and specific processes.
  • Provide financial analysis, identifying issues requiring review, and prepare reports with recommendations for management.
  • Continuously enhance database tools to ensure flexibility and alignment with changing business needs.
  • Seek to improve report quality, data accuracy, and data integrity consistently.
  • Oversee tasks and activities related to strategy, profitability, business planning, performance management, and people management.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in Financial Institutions or Insurance Company.
  • Preferred knowledge in Underwriting, Distribution, or Claims.
  • Exposure to complex analytical project work is highly regarded.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and other analytical tools such as Tableau, Qliksense, and PowerBI.
  • Effective skills in managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and influencing abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize work within defined procedures and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.
