About the role As the Data Analyst – Assets you will play an important role in the development and operation of Transurban’s Advanced Data and Analytics Capability. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders to solve business problems using data analytics and process engineering optimisation approaches. A role with real tangible impacts that improve road safety, sustainability and efficiencies on major road projects. This is a permanent ongoing opportunity that can be based from our Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane offices. Day-to-day, you will: Analyse business requirements and associated drivers, impacts and influences and design solutions to address these requirements. Build, train, test and deploy process improvement models and simulations based on business requirements. Support and continuously enhance the enterprise advanced data and analytics capability. Research, test and implement appropriate process improvement solutions within operating business environments. Perform impact assessments for all system changes in consultation with the appropriate business and technology teams. Build process control, process improvement expertise and share with others in the team across the enterprise. This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including: Demonstrated experience in delivering data analysis outcomes in a complex corporate environment. Skills and experience working with large, complex source systems. Demonstrated ability and skills in translating objectives into scalable solutions. Experience working with large, complex source systems and have the ability to integrate data from multiple sources. Knowledge and experience writing and optimising SQL queries. Skills in critical thinking, analytical ability and problem solving, with the ability to overlay business acumen to developed insights and recommendations. Possess a process mindset with ability to work autonomously. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with a variety of people and team. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to consult, influence, negotiate and present, as needed with employees, stakeholders and senior leaders. Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills paired with the curiosity to find better ways of working. A builder of relationships, you won’t be afraid to challenge the status quo, helping to problem solve through your ability to understand requirements and coordinate various moving parts. Formal qualifications in engineering, computer science or a similar discipline will be highly regarded.
