What Are We Looking For?

The Howden Markets team, a vital part of Howden Group, executes the Group Strategy by providing sustainable, best-in-class placement solutions. The chosen candidate will collaborate with the team and senior members to manage and utilize data, advancing Howden Markets' objectives to build and maintain strategic insurer relationships and grow the business while meeting targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordination and Support

  • Recognize and address Howden Markets business requirements by creating data visualizations transforming raw data into actionable insights.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives.
  • Convert business needs into technical specifications, establishing completion timelines.
  • Collaborate with IT data teams for seamless data integration.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze data for informed decision-making, translating it into concise, cogent graphics.
  • Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts for in-depth analysis.
  • Transfer data from sources including Power BI and Excel to PowerPoint for stakeholder presentations.
  • Combine multiple datasets into visualizations to enhance data value.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards to support business operations.
  • Conduct data quality testing and profiling/scoping of data.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Continuously improve data monitoring and reporting for internal and external value addition.

Environment, Contacts, and Relationships

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external contacts under the guidance of the Howden Markets team.
  • Serve as the point of contact for client requirements, portfolio issues, and queries.
  • Stay updated with market trends and competitors to ensure high standards and identify opportunities for growth.

People Management & Personal Development

  • Act as a role model by promoting a positive attitude and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a highly collaborative, agile, and customer-centric culture.
  • Pursue personal development for up-to-date knowledge and understanding of best practices.
  • Remain aware of industry regulations and legal standards to maintain high-quality outputs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Insurance experience of up to 2 years is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience in client and colleague interactions.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and output creation.
  • Familiarity with London Market operations.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Strong initiative and a keen interest in learning and progressing.
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Analytical skills with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented attitude with the ability to assist colleagues when needed.
  • GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths are essential; a degree is desirable but not mandatory. Technical qualifications in progress, such as CII, will be beneficial.
