Our mission is to boost the GDP of the internet, and we have a monumental amount of work ahead. This means there's an unmatched opportunity for you to make the global economy accessible to everyone while doing the most significant work of your career.

About the team

We’re on the lookout for a seasoned data analyst to enhance our understanding of the economic impact Stripe is making worldwide. You'll be part of a group of analysts and data scientists within the Go-to-Market Analytics team and you'll be collaborating with Stripe’s Communications and Policy teams to build and safeguard Stripe’s brand and its influence globally.

What you'll do

The Data Analyst for Communications role will concentrate on using data to showcase how Stripe contributes to extensive and often unexpected economic growth. This role will aid in extracting new economic insights from Stripe data to narrate stories about evolving segments of the economy and about how Stripe is fostering economic opportunities for entrepreneurs and enhancing the internet's GDP.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the communications team to conceive, outline, and manage research projects that highlight different aspects of Stripe’s economic impact
  • Create, implement, and maintain data streams and dashboards to derive insights from Stripe's internal and external public data sources
  • Identify and monitor key metrics relating to economic impact
  • Thoroughly understand business factors, user groups, cohorts, and macroeconomic trends
  • Prepare presentations, analyses, and visualizations for internal and external executive stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Communications, Policy, Marketing, and Product teams to identify and analyze key trends
  • Cooperate with external vendors to capitalize on their expertise for research projects

Who you are

We’re searching for someone who fulfills the minimum criteria for the role. If these requirements are met, we encourage you to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in analytical roles dealing with large datasets
  • A bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, or a related quantitative field

  • Prior experience in developing self-serve dashboards or similar scalable analytical tools for partner teams
  • Substantial knowledge of statistics
  • Expertise in data storytelling and visualization, using data-driven insights to provide actionable recommendations and drive business objectives
  • Proven experience and interest in public conversations about economic trends (may it be as a data scientist, writer, researcher, or in another capacity)
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and deliver on multiple projects while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or PhD in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences or related quantitative field and/or experience in the tech field's data analytics
  • Prior experience in creating data-informed narratives and visualizations for external publication
  • Previous experience collaborating with institutions respected by policymakers and the broader public for their economic insight
