About the role
Chime has established a Financial Crimes - Insights team that utilizes techniques and tools to generate actionable insights from Chime Data that can be reviewed by management and investigators to identify and investigate anomalies related to Financial Crimes. This team scrutinizes emerging money-laundering threats, develops data-driven insights, and works on complex, technical roadmaps to mitigate the risk of financial crimes to Chime and its members.
As an Analyst on the team, your role will involve providing insights that shape financial crime detection strategies and developing alert systems/suspicious indicators. As an Analyst, your duties will involve using your individual problem-solving and analytical skills to verify customers, review transaction patterns, and conduct an exploratory analysis of emerging market trends. Given the rapid growth in the team’s personnel and processes, we require a robust data analyst with Financial Crimes experience to assist us in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Analytics programs relating to Anti-money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), Sanctions and Identity Fraud. As the Insights Analyst, you will support the FinCrime Insights team in constructing and supplying crucial Analytics work-products, including FinCrime models, dashboards, automated reporting, and measurements.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience ranges from $106,300 to $147,600. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Develop insights to swiftly source, analyze and ascertain root causes consistently and accurately across the Chime platform
- Capably convey data-driven insights within the risk organization and cross-functionally for actions recommended from the team’s financial crimes analysis
- Assist the team in identifying emerging trends and collaborate with the investigations and strategy teams to develop ongoing logic for risk mitigation
- Help identify opportunities to enhance policies and monitoring activities
- Assist with timely execution on deliverables, and maintain transparency with affected subject matter experts
- Deep-dive into risk mitigation strategies and manage issues to closure while closely collaborating with cross-functional teams
To thrive in this role, you have
- 4+ years of Financial Crimes or other relevant experience including AML, KYC, Sanctions Screening and/or Fraud
- Intermediate to advanced experience in SQL, as well as experience with dashboarding tools like Looker (preferred) and Tableau
- Functional programming experience with Python, R, etc. to build statistical models is beneficial
- Solid analytical skills and an understanding of how to employ data to target improvements and come up with solutions to problems
- Demonstrated capability to develop solutions that balance risk with offering a first-class customer experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you’ll occasionally need to converse with, and present to, both internal stakeholders and external business partners
- The ability to excel in a rapid-paced environment, with the capability to make high-quality decisions in real time
- Energy to work as a team toward a goal to achieve the desired results
