Job Description

This position is part of the Data team within the Gas & LNG subsegment of the Commodities group, and will be collaborating closely with our Research and Product departments. The chosen candidate will solve challenges related to data management, pipelines, analysis, and data quality.

The success of this role demands attention to detail, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. The main goal is to help deliver value to clients and colleagues by ensuring competent and comprehensive data management, which transfers efficiently and reliably from the source to the point of need. Creating a supportive and inclusive culture within our team is a priority.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong understanding of the data landscape, domain, and workflows relevant to your business area, clients, and products
  • Provide specialist skills in data analysis, visualization, and data management, delivering new analytics through interconnected datasets and integrated pipelines
  • Advocate for quality, take responsibility for the data ownership and meet complex data requests in a timely manner with high standards
  • Identify, prioritize, and document opportunities for efficiency, optimization, migration, or improvement in our systems, processes, and datasets
  • Work in an agile, cooperative way to foster an environment of continuous improvement and gradual delivery, measuring success
  • Be a core user of the Data Platform, ensuring best practices are applied when using or maintaining databases, tools, models, and process solutions from data sourcing to client delivery
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Research, Data, Product and Engineering to deliver Data Assets

Qualifications

About You

  • Experience in data-related roles, demonstrating customer focus and understanding of essential concepts around data ingestion, cleansing, and quality
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong skills in relational database systems, with the ability to query and analyze data using SQL or other techniques
  • Skills in a data visualization package such as PowerBI would be beneficial
  • Experience in identifying and applying technology solutions to solve business problems using agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A keen interest and passion for learning new technologies or data skills like Python, understanding of AWS and APIs will be advantageous

Expectations

  • We are a hybrid working company, and the successful applicant is expected to be physically present in the office at least two days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, although this may change in the future.
  • While this is expected to be a full-time role, part-time or flexible working arrangements will be considered.
  • Due to the global nature of the team, some degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
