You will contribute by:

  • Establishing trust and building relationships with business leaders and end users.
  • Designing UI components and visualizations conforming to the group standards and meeting the requirements of the request.
  • Designing, developing, and testing data model and ETL components.
  • Performing data analysis to create new information delivery solutions.
  • Troubleshooting and correcting bugs for dashboard, reports, and data issues and collaborating with other functional areas to formulate solutions or fix problems.
  • Anticipating needs and developing solutions that answer the business question presented.
  • Delivering prioritized demand in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Helping promote the benefits of Data & Analytics across the organization, advocating for the adoption of data-driven decision making.

Essential for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, math, management information systems or equivalent education or experience.
  • 2 – 5+ years hands-on advanced analytics/visualization development experience in Qlik (preferred) and Power BI
  • 2 – 5+ years of experience with Python, SQL, or other transformation tools for data analysis, preparation, and modeling; including experience with large and unstructured data sets.
  • 2 – 5+ years’ experience directly engaging with business users to understand, define, and document project requirements
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize work and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and business information into various forms of documentation for diverse audience types (non-technical business teams, technical teams, system administrators, and integrators).
  • Ability to utilize sound business judgement to convert complex business issues/needs into technical requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to build good relationships and work across functions.
  • Competence with Agile, Scrum, DevOps and associated tools including JIRA and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent command of English.

Preferred capabilities

  • Ability to tell a story with data and promote data literacy.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs and propose innovative solutions.
  • Experience with data science tools (e.g., SageMaker)
  • Understanding of Agriculture industry, specifically the Vegetable Seed value chain and dynamics
  • Understanding of key business drivers for profitable growth.
