Job Description

Purpose of the role

  • Perform data queries and analysis for Product Analysts, Product Management, Sales, Finance, and Marketing to support the enhancement of Verisk's processes, improve existing products, and develop new products.
  • Contribute to the development of the Verisk Analytic Community

Primary Goals to Be Assured

  • Perform analysis of product data to pinpoint value-generating trends and insights. Develop systems and tools for effective data management, visualization, and interpretation.
  • Create ad-hoc reports and database queries to meet client data analytics needs.
  • Share valuable methodologies, advancements, and best practices from your work within the entire analytics community.

Specific Responsibilities

Produce and timely deliver analytic solutions that fulfill specific technical requirements.

  • Work within various reporting environments to create data solutions. 
  • Develop reporting solutions using BI Tools like Spotfire, Tableau, and Power-BI. 
  • Perform data analysis and profiling using BI tools.
  • Debug, monitor, and troubleshoot data reporting solutions.
  • Design and deploy reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with Senior Data Analysts to design data queries and visualizations.
  • Ensure solutions meet specific technical needs.
  • Ensure solutions are delivered in a timely manner.

Share valuable methodologies, advancements, and best practices from your work within the entire analytics community.

  • Disseminate important methodologies, advancements, and best practices from work across the entire analytics community via these forums.

Success Criteria

  • Measurable contribution to products and processes in terms of new products developed, enhanced products, direct revenue supported, cost savings, etc.
  • Positive feedback from business partners on the support received.
  • Positive feedback from members and leaders of the Verisk analytic community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
  • Strong programming, visualization, and analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge in one or more tools like MS Excel, Spotfire, Tableau, R, Python, MS Report builder, or SQL. 
  • Ability to solve problems analytically and creatively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 1-2 years experience with SQL or NoSQL (e.g., Hadoop, HBase, MongoDB, and/or Neo4j) databases.
