You will play a key role in our Data Governance team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of reported data while adhering to internal controls. Primary Responsibilities

• Execute conformance testing for Finance regarding regulatory reporting to align M&T data lineage with Fed instructions/FAQ documents.
• Interpret data lineage to populate technical details and provide a layman’s description in conformance testing files.
• Query various data platforms to investigate discrepancies and liaise between the conformance testing team and technology for technical queries.
• Leverage data lineage documentation to assess the impact of identified data issues.
• Ensure end-to-end data lineage development aligns with Finance requirements.
• Execute quarterly SOX controls, including interface testing and building automated testing solutions.
• Participate in data migration projects to assess impacts on data validation programs and data lineage.
• Design and lead moderate scope projects and presentations for managers or peers.
• Provide cross-training and support to team members.
• Engage in continuous training and development opportunities across Finance.
• Adhere to departmental timelines, deliverables, and the company's risk and regulatory standards.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities

May have direct and/or indirect reports.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience, or Associate's degree with a minimum of 7 years' experience in accounting, auditing, operations, or financial institutions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of database structure and data architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of SQL.
• Willingness to learn new tools and methods for process improvement.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Education and Experience Preferred

• Programming experience preferred.
• Experience in data engineering or data architecture preferred.
• Background in data science, information systems, computer science, mathematics, or accounting/auditing is a plus.

Compensation

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s compensation will be determined by their unique combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
