Data Analyst Team Mission

Our Data Analyst team aims to maximize the quality and quantity of decision-making within the company. We drive the business of Merpay by delivering outputs directly tied to decision-makings in various aspects of the business.

At Merpay, we utilize data from FinTech services, including payment and credit sectors, as well as e-commerce and logistics from Mercari. Our team continuously searches for issues and growth opportunities using this data and proposes solutions for improvement. Being part of a management-driven organization, you’ll have many opportunities to input and propose directly to management, playing a crucial role in making key decisions across the company.

As a Data Analyst Team member, you will support essential decision-making through data. You will offer actionable insights to solve product and business challenges while promoting data democratization and enhancing the company’s overall analytical capabilities. Internship Role

We are recruiting for a hands-on internship role in our data analysis team. As an intern, you will collaborate with various departments and be responsible for the following tasks:

• Identify and propose opportunities to improve Merpay through data analysis
• Maximize marketing effectiveness via data analysis

Unique Challenges

You will engage in large-scale and cutting-edge analysis of payment and credit services, working with extensive, diverse data sets, from Mercari purchases/sales to online/offline payments with Merpay. You’ll collaborate with various teams (PdM, Marketing, Merchant sales, ML, Corporate, Finance) and drive business alongside many stakeholders. Our Data Analyst team leads numerous projects with significant autonomy, tackling complex, high-stakes management decisions across Mercari Group companies.

Selection Process

The selection process includes document screening, the first interview, a technical assignment, and a second interview. The number of interviews may change based on circumstances.

Required Qualifications

• Sympathy with the mission and values of Mercari Group and individual companies
• Eagerness to understand Merpay products and propose proactive improvements
• Basic SQL data manipulation skills by internship start
• Ability to submit
