Job Opportunity: Data Analyst - Non-Revenue Water

Join South East Water's Digital Utility group as a Data Analyst focusing on minimizing non-revenue water. Reporting to the Group Manager Analytics and Performance and working closely with the Non-Revenue Water Manager, you will lead key analytics and reporting initiatives. You will develop and deploy priority reporting requirements to manage non-revenue water actively and support various digital utility and metering programs. Your role will generate business value from analytics, utilizing reporting to inform decisions and automating BAU processes through dashboarding and applications.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you must demonstrate the following key skills, experience, or qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the utility sector and data analytics, with extensive experience in data visualization and analytics.
  • Understanding of the water industry, non-revenue water, time-series, and GIS data.
  • Highly developed communication skills to influence change and uptake of key data reporting solutions.
  • Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: operations research, mathematics, data mining, machine learning, and computer engineering.
  • Proficiency with a wide range of data management and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI).
  • Advantageous experience with coding and analytics systems (e.g., Python, R, Azure, DataBricks).
  • Experience in end-to-end data analytics and visualization from business requirements and data capture through to solution deployment.
  • Ability to efficiently turn data into knowledge through visualization and reporting.
  • Dynamic personality with the ability to quickly establish trust and rapport at all organizational levels.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, demonstrating the ability to work within a complex and collaborative environment.
  • Significant problem-solving ability to manage complex technical solutions.
