About the Project: North Star
North Star is one of Aviva Group's most ambitious projects, focused on transforming the Finance function through automation, efficiency gains, and a culture aimed at doing things once and correctly. Our team is instrumental in delivering critical process acceleration, enhancing management information & analysis, and strengthening our system of controls.
Your Role as a Data Analyst
As a Data Analyst in our dynamic North Star team, you will:
- Develop fast and efficient systems designed to be sustainable over time.
- Utilize your coding prowess within the actuarial processes to manage large data sets swiftly to aid decision making.
- Enhance existing processes using tools like Python, Power Query, and the latest Excel functionalities.
- Design tests and implement checks to assure quality and accuracy.
- Collaborate with a UK-wide team of actuarial experts.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and report results clearly.
- Support our flexible resourcing model through stellar teamwork.
We're Seeking Candidates Who:
- Have prior coding experience—proficiency in Python is highly desirable.
- Can work independently with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality output.
- Possess a basic understanding of asset valuation, with actuarial knowledge being an added advantage.
- Are excellent at both written and verbal English communication.
- Can simplify technical concepts for various audiences, including senior management and non-experts.
- Are adept at identifying issues and either resolving them or escalating appropriately.
