New hires typically start between the minimum and midpoint range, but compensation may go higher based on your experience, internal equity, and market trends.

General Purpose
Under the direction of the Manager-Project Management Office, the Data Analyst will research, recommend, and develop improvements to data and processes supporting the Project Management and Resourcing Team. This role is essential for advancing data-driven decision-making and enhancing operational efficiency for Program/Portfolio Management across the agency.
Essential Functions
- Define requirements, research options, and recommend software solutions to meet various business needs.
- Formulate strategies and plans to manage data from multiple sources ensuring quality and consistency.
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards with GIS capabilities and user-defined reports.
- Analyze and streamline business processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Develop and manage Power Apps and SharePoint sites.
- Monitor and research industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices for system enhancements.
- Facilitate data sharing and alignment with agency data governance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and tools.
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Model Sound Transit's core values and contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Integrate sustainability into everyday business practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field
- Four years of experience in data management, systems integration, GIS, dashboard development, and Microsoft Power Platform
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Data Warehouse)
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 applications and services
- Experience managing a Geographic Information System (GIS)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Ability to create meaningful and clear data visualizations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices
- Experience with change management and adoption of new systems
- Attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks
