Job Responsibilities

The Data Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Performing data collection, analysis, validation, and reporting.
  • Developing Power BI Reports.
  • Designing, testing, and documenting processes, SQL queries, and stored procedures.
  • Extracting and analyzing data from various sources, including databases, manual files, and external websites.
  • Responding to data inquiries from various groups within the organization.
  • Creating and publishing regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports.
  • Documenting reporting requirements and validating data components as required.
  • Utilizing experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and/or statistical software.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with relational databases and query tools.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Math, or Data Science preferred).
  • Three or more years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including data science or analytics.
  • Proficiency in newer Microsoft Technologies like Model Driven Apps, MS Fabric, Power BI, PowerApps, and Power Automate Flow.
  • Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI and Spotfire.
  • Proficiency with VBA (Visual Basic) coding for MS Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, R, and Java is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for problem-solving with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with writing complex SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and functions.
