Job Opportunity: Data Analyst, Tech Consulting at IQVIA

Job Overview

Under direct supervision, the Data Analyst assists in providing systems support by developing and enhancing business systems. This role aims to deliver new or improved products to clients and effective planning, reporting, and analysis tools to internal functions.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in defining systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
  • Performs extensive data validation and quality assurance analysis within large datasets.
  • Analyzes business and user needs, documents requirements, and revises existing system logic as necessary.
  • Serves as a technical expert on development projects.
  • Evaluates business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.
  • Designs, documents, builds, and tests analytics reports and dashboards.
  • Automates manual processes and enhances software for better support and performance.
  • Participates in software design meetings to analyze user needs and establish technical requirements.
  • Creates and maintains internal documentation, including system support guides, process flows, and other application support documentation where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in big data analytics and distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of business-wide applications (e.g., third-party software and internal operational applications) or IQVIA client-facing applications and products.
  • Experience building databases in SQL.
  • Experience with Tableau and PowerBI, including DAX optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, databases, and transformation routines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in writing code, SSRS, ETL processes, and monitoring processes in a production-ready environment.
  • Knowledge of Big Data with a focus on data engineering, optimizing data pipelines, and ETLs.
  • Strong ability to work independently and troubleshoot data issues.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand client requirements and the underlying infrastructure, applications, systems, and processes needed to execute those skills.
