About the Role

As a Data Analytics Engineer at Mattermost, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging data to drive strategic decisions across our Marketing, Sales, Product, and Engineering teams. This role is perfect for those who are passionate about diving into complex data sets, surfacing insights, and ensuring data integrity across our platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively addressing and resolving data-related issues while enhancing data quality across the organization.
  • Building and maintaining a potent data engineering stack, ensuring efficient data modeling and performance.
  • Developing predictive analytics models to aid in reporting and performance evaluation across various teams.
  • Creating, iterating, and managing analytics dashboards to accurately reflect business and user activities.
  • Utilizing SQL, Python, and LookML to manage large data sets, analyze performance metrics, and participate in software development.

Technical Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis or analytics engineering.
  • Proficiency in SQL, schema design, and data modeling with strong knowledge in data warehouse systems.
  • Experience with tools like dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Looker, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering practices with a focus on data analytics, including CI/CD and version control.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, communication proficiency, and a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
