Job Description

We are on the hunt for a self-driven Data Analytics Intern, who is eager to implement a time-bound, cross-functional project for an Electrical Drives Business Unit in North America – concentrating primarily on Sales & Portfolio Management.

You will be collaborating with the Project Manager in the turnaround of this Electric Drives Business Unit.

Your interactions will be cross-functional: Regional Business Unit Leader, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing, Project Management.
You will work on two primary projects:
1) Creating a data base for managing customer
contractual data for our North American clientele. This will be your project, with your involvement from conceptualization to implementation.
2) Carrying out market and competitor analysis to guide strategic portfolio decisions

Tasks:
Customer Intelligence Data Base:

  • Align requirements with all crucial stakeholders (focus on Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing)
  • Develop and implement an analytics solution using data analytics tools and skills to establish a system for managing customer contractual data (e.g., PowerBi, Tableau)
  • Gather, cleanse, store, and analyze data from our sales efforts
  • Establish reporting and visualizations to provide insightful and actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, laws, and policies
  • Present recommendations & coordinate action plans with stakeholders

Portfolio Strategy:

  • Market & competitor analysis (focus on products, USP, pricing)
  • Formulate portfolio recommendations (product extensions, product exits)
  • Scenario analysis on Business Unit’s profitability & plant capacity

Qualifications

We are seeking a Data Analytics student with an interest in sales and portfolio management.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and inquisitive personality
  • Experience in creating visualizations (e.g., Tableau or Power BI)
  • Experience in constructing databases (SQL, coding experience using Python is desirable but not necessary)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (including pivot tables)
  • Curiosity with the capability to utilize, organize, and synthesize data from diverse types and sources
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university with at least one semester completed
  • Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in IT, Data Analytics, Business Administration with a concentration on Data Analytics
  • Must be 18 years old at least
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
