About Us

The Office of the Vice-Provost, Students (OVPS) oversees student policies and student organizations across three campuses, aiming to enhance the student experience. The Office of Strategic Enrollment Management (VPSEM) focuses on recruiting, enrolling, and retaining a diverse and academically excellent student body from Canada and around the world. Our Student Data and Analytics team supports these offices by developing data-driven strategies for student success.

Your Opportunity

As a vital member of the Student Data & Analytics team, and reporting to the Manager, Student Data and Analytics, you will support various analytical tasks related to the Student Equity Census and other student data sources. Responsibilities include creating ad-hoc statistical reports, developing dashboards in Microsoft Power BI/Tableau, and supporting other analytical activities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Producing complex statistical information.
  • Conducting detailed data analysis requiring precision and attention to detail.
  • Running SQL queries to gather data from ROSI.
  • Generating static reports.
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards in Power BI and/or Tableau for quick access to key performance indicators.
  • Developing project charters, scopes, resources, and schedules.
  • Conducting detailed data analysis to inform management decision-making.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, analytical, quantitative, information management, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience analyzing post-secondary student administrative data (e.g., ROSI).
  • Proficiency with relational databases using Azure Data Studio/SQL.
  • Experience with both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Experience creating polished dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and/or Tableau.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools and methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data for decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with regression modeling and statistical software like Stata, SAS, SPSS, or R.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative style, and effective cross-functional working abilities.
