About the Team/Department
The Data Strategy and Services department, part of the Intelligence & Digital Division, spearheads the FCA’s Data Strategy by optimizing data through management, governance, and analysis. Our key focus is on central coordination of all data-related activities. Within the Data, Technology & Innovation Division, we drive advanced analytics to transform financial regulation.
The Information Centre, a subset of the Data Acquisition Unit, is crucial in sourcing, providing access to, and optimizing commercial data and information sources. Our team ensures the use of commercial data to reduce the necessity for firm data requests and challenges suppliers on value for money. Essential commercial data and information sources, such as markets data, legal information, company data, consumer research, and news services, are managed by our team for the FCA’s critical operations.
Role Responsibilities
As a Data and Information Services Lead, you will:
- Engage effectively with external stakeholders and product vendors to ensure best value for money and meet business requirements.
- Conduct proactive research and work alongside procurement colleagues to run tender exercises and manage contracts for key commercial market data services and sources.
- Interact with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure data sources are fully utilized.
- Perform intelligence gathering and research activities in response to staff queries.
- Promote the Information Centre’s work through presentations, products, and training to support data utilization across the FCA.
- Support and lead initiatives to improve the usability and efficiency of data sources and services.

Skills and Experience Required
Minimum Criteria

- Significant experience in managing contracts and budgets.

- Familiarity with market data, commercial, legal, and other information sources for research purposes.
- Capability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with staff at all levels within and outside the FCA.
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands, a "can-do" attitude, and capacity to work under pressure.
- Significant stakeholder management experience.
