Data Architect Position at Telefónica

Job Role Overview

The main mission of the Data Architect role is to define and ensure adherence to procedures, standards, and policies of the architecture of systems solutions related to analytics and business intelligence. This involves both technological tools and data flow management at various levels to facilitate informed decision-making processes.

Main Responsibilities

• Visualize organizational data at different abstraction levels to aid understanding and support decision-making.
• Agree on and standardize the technological tools to be used, ensuring their timely update and the stability of the platforms.
• Define and document architectural policies such as design standards, naming conventions, data location for ingestion, technologies, and development tools to use and when to use them, guiding project teams and ensuring compliance with these policies.
• Validate data integration designs for projects, ensuring that designs are effectively built under data architecture standards.
• Manage data assets by monitoring the use of data objects to ensure no duplication of information and that each design fits into the overarching framework.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience working with data architecture.
• Extensive experience in relational and dimensional data modeling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Database Design).
• Experience in BI environments, Data Warehousing, and Big Data technologies such as HDFS, Hive, HBase, Kafka, and Nifi.
• Experience with both On-Premise and Cloud environments.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices.

• ETL and SQL relational databases.
• Software engineering in system and application development.
• NoSQL databases expertise.
• Familiarity with SOAP/REST - Monitoring Protocols.
