Key Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership and strategic insight on Data Architecture to solve complex problems.
  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems aligned with business needs and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement database solutions and models using Azure frameworks such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure databases.
  • Ensure database compliance with internal and external regulations, making them scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Create documentation for data design and architecture to be shared with management and executive teams.
  • Develop strategies for data integrations, retention, and disaster recovery (DR).
  • Select and implement appropriate database management systems, optimizing data storage and access controls.
  • Define and implement long-term technology strategies and innovation roadmaps for analytics, data engineering, and data platforms.
  • Manage the ETL process from various sources into the organization’s data systems.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into effective data models and metadata standards.
  • Simplify data architecture by delivering reusable services and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead peer reviews and quality assurance for project artifacts across the EA group.
  • Establish standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data quality.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, management, data analysts, and data scientists to meet future data requirements.
  • Work with Data Governance and Security teams to develop and implement data standards, ensuring privacy and security regulations are met.
  • Stay updated with advancements in data technologies, including databases, data science, AI/ML, GenAI, and cloud computing.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (or a bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience).
  • 10+ years in the IT industry, with a minimum of 8 years in data architecture/design and implementations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure data tools, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Services, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Programming experience in .NET or Java, with knowledge of C#, Python, or other data processing languages.
  • Experience with SQL, Oracle, NoSQL databases, and Data Fabric architectures.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, and Spark.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
  • Knowledge of AI and Data Analytics principles, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate, Data Engineer, or Azure AI Engineer Associate are preferred.
