Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize data labeling tools to annotate data for machine learning models.
  • Engage with stakeholders including machine learning engineers, data scientists, and product managers across JPMorgan Chase's lines of business, such as Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, and Asset Management.
  • Navigate engagements from understanding business objectives to data identification, annotation, and validation.
  • Interpret the nuances of financial industry language for accurate data annotation.
  • Define and understand relationships among data entities.
  • Validate model results and provide business-centric feedback for improvements.
  • Communicate complex data annotation concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences.
  • Adapt to changing guidelines, priorities, and environments.
  • Transcribe audio recordings and identify relevant keywords and sentiments.
  • Develop documentation and guidelines for data annotation conventions.
  • Create workflows, processes, and KPIs to measure annotation performance and quality.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to create and structure new annotations and labels.
  • Collaborate with ML engineering teams to optimize annotation workflows.
  • Increase productivity with machine learning algorithms, LLMs, and programmatic scripts.
  • Enhance labeling workflows and ensure quality and consistency in annotations.
  • Participate in strategic programs to improve annotation deliverables.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for scalable solutions and process improvements.
  • Understand complex data interactions and their business impacts.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Unix.
  • Strong academic background in machine learning, data science, data analytics, computer science, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, data analytics, or research with leadership experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in team settings.
  • Curiosity, hardworking nature, attention to detail, and a keen interest in solving complex analytical problems.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in data extraction from financial documents.
  • Expertise in data annotation, labeling, entity disambiguation, and data enrichment.
  • Familiarity with standard annotation and labeling methods.
  • Experience with voice translation services and tools.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and AI paradigms such as text classification, entity recognition, and information retrieval.
