Make your mark as a Data Engineer at Boskalis! Imagine automating the real-time sensor data from our fleet and supporting NOx reduction for sustainability reporting. In this role, you will get a chance to contribute to our operations by using your skills in data movement and creating data insights. You will work with cloud technology platforms like Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.


Your responsibilities as a Data Engineer:

  • Extract, collect, store, and process large sets of (un)structured data.
  • Develop new data pipelines and innovations required by the business on the Boskalis Data Platform.
  • Build and maintain the data warehouse & data lake on our Boskalis Data Platform, mainly based on Azure Databricks.
  • Work closely with data scientists, business unit management, fleet management, engineering, procurement, and IT.

You can make your mark as a Data Engineer if you have:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Data Engineer.
  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure Databricks, Python/Pyspark, SQL, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Experience in data warehousing, Kimball data & generic data modeling.
  • Experience on the Azure Data platform.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • You are eligible to already work and live in the Netherlands.

  • Your team: You will be part of our Data Analytics team. This team of 10 data (analytics) engineers operates at the intersection of data technology and our core businesses of dredging and offshore operations.
  • Where you will work: For office-based roles, in discussion with your manager and team, you will work part-time at home and part-time in the office.
  • Full/part-time job: This position is a full-time role (40 hours a week).
