We are seeking a Data Engineer to accompany us on our journey to greatly streamline the process for customers to locate, select, afford, and interact with the services, goods, and professionals they require to become and remain healthy! As a Data Engineer in the Pharmacy team, you will liaise with Software Engineers, Business Intelligence Engineers, and product managers. Working closely with the Sr. Data Engineer on the team, you will conceive, implement, and maintain next-generation BI solutions for large-scale, highly secure, and intricate data structures, ensuring the data is auditable, available, and accessible. You will develop a profound comprehension of our services and the data they yield and will become our resident authority on how to transform that data into a format that is conducive for analytics and business intelligence. You will actively seek out new data for integration with our platform, suggesting and introducing new technologies that enable a better understanding of our data. Key Job Responsibilities Design, implement, maintain and support a secure and robust data lake in native AWS with over 300 datasets, which contain both PII and PHI data. • Implement ingestion routines, both real-time and batch, using best practices in modeling, ETL/ELT processes, by making use of AWS technologies and big data tools. • Collaborate with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide array of data sources utilizing SQL, Python, and AWS big data technologies. • Gather business and functional requirements and transform them into secure, robust, scalable solutions with a flexible and adaptable architecture. • Work with engineers to adopt best practices in creating systems, maintaining integrity, designing tests, analysis, validation, and documentation. • Help to continuously streamline ongoing reporting and analytical processes, automating or simplifying self-service tools for customers. • Discover and learn the latest AWS technologies to introduce new capabilities and increase efficiency. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of Seattle, WA, USA Basic Qualifications - 3+ years of data engineering experience - Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines - 3+ years of analysis and interpretation of data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience - Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR - Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications - Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, IAM roles and permissions - Experience with non-relational databases/datastores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases) - Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers on best practices in data engineering - Experience working with secure medical data, pipeline, services and HIPAA compliant environment. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,700 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by a set of factors such as market location and may fluctuate depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
